Mrs. starring Sanya Malhotra is streaming on ZEE5. The film has been receiving a lot of love and appreciation from fans. Reacting to the love, Sanya penned a long emotional note on her Instagram.

ZEE5's latest film, Mrs. starring Sanya Malhotra, is a take on typical patriarchal society. It follows a young woman who enters an arranged marriage with a doctor, only to find herself trapped in a patriarchal family dynamic where she is expected to perform endless domestic chores. The film has been receiving love from fans, and Sanya penned an emotional note in reaction to it.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Sanya Malhotra shared a still from Mrs. and wrote an emotional note as she is overwhelmed by the lovely responses from fans.

She penned, "Sachi bolun? I am truly overwhelmed by all the love and appreciation Mrs. is receiving. The film is so soooo close to my heart and its story means the world to me.”

She further added, "Over time I've learned to disconnect and let go once a film is out allowing it to belong to the audience. But seeing how deeply so many people are relating to this story-heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time- feels incredibly special. Thank you for embracing Mrs. with so much love. This response has given me even more confidence to be a part of such stories boldly and wholeheartedly."

In an interview with Mid-Day, Sanya shared that she saw women around her being victims of an unspeakable patriarchy.

She added that she has seen her friends go through similar challenges and often we think this is mundane and aren’t even aware of how it is actually a patriarchal practice.

"I feel [showing it in] this film can empower someone watching it. I feel empowered doing films like Mrs and I want little girls to feel the same way when they watch me. These are small steps, but somebody has to take them," the actress added.

Written by Harman Baweja and Anu Singh Choudhary, Mrs. stars Sanya Malhotra as Richa. Nishant Dahiya plays her husband Diwakar. Kanwaljit Singh is seen as the actress' father-in-law in the movie.
