About Munjya

Munjya's story is split between two timelines. In 1952, a young Brahmin boy named Gotya is obsessively in love with an older girl, Munni. After she marries someone else, Gotya attempts a black magic ritual to win her back, but dies in the process. Since he died shortly after his sacred thread ceremony, his spirit became a vengeful "Munjya", and the priests trapped him in a peepal tree.

Now in the present day, a descendant of Gotya's family, Bittu (Abhay Verma), travels to his ancestral village in the Konkan region. While there, he accidentally frees Munjya's spirit from the tree. The mischievous and territorial Munjya then latches onto Bittu, demanding that he find Munni so he can finally get married.

In his search for Munni, Bittu discovers that his own lover, Bela (Sharvari), is Munni's granddaughter. Munjya then changes his target to Bela, leading to a chaotic fight as Bittu tries to protect him from the spirit's obsessive advances.
