Set in 2001, Naagin 7 opened with Karan Kundrra’s cameo as Professor and scientist Dr. Tushar Sinha, who invites spiritual leaders across India to unravel a dark secret. He reveals that a mass destruction is looming over our country, and exactly 25 years later, in 2025, a terror force will unleash its harm. He then requests the other leaders to join him in his quest to fight evil against their country.

Kumbh backstory

Karan Kundrra, as the helping professor, tells the saints and sadhus that he did extensive research about the planets and their alignment and created a kundali, or horoscope, for India, which revealed that 2025 will be a game changer for the country as terrorists and enemy nations unleash their terror. He also visits the ancient Nadi Mandir in South India to see the future and finds out that Anantkul ki Naagrani—Ananta is their saviour.

Terrorists infiltrate India

A group of terrorists infiltrates India and kills a couple. On the same day, Professor Tushar embarks on a deadly quest to seek Ananta and warn her of the upcoming danger.

Tushar gets kidnapped by a group of terrorists, who spy on him and notice that their destruction is related to Ananta. After he tells them about the new hope in Ananta, the deadly terrorists kill him. Meanwhile, Pragati (Tejasswi Prakash), who is the shesh naagin, delivers her daughter, Ananta, at a stranger couple’s house. She also tells how Ananta is the chosen one by destiny, as she will become the most powerful shape-shifting serpent in history.

The serpent series then takes a 24-year time jump, and we meet Ananta (played by Eisha Singh), a charismatic young designer/stylist and the elder daughter of the Suris. She is a true believer of Mahadev and also loves her nerdy sister, Purvi (Priyanka Chahar Choudhary). We also meet the male lead, Aryaman (played by Namik Paul), who is a cold-hearted journalist, only dedicated to work and no party.

Naagin legacy

Inside the old temple, Uttara Naagin traces the backstory to her protégé and reveals the legacy of the previous Naagins who helped protect the nation. Shivanya began the Naagin franchise, followed by her daughter Shivangi. The legacy is carried by Bela, Brinda, Bani, Pratha, and Pragati. The latest in this path is Ananta, who is chosen by destiny.

Who is the real Ananta?

In a surprising turn of events, it is revealed that the Suris have lied to their daughters about their true identity. They named their own daughter Ananta to save Pragati’s daughter and instead named the real Ananta as Purvi. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Purvi is unveiled as the ‘Anantkul ki Naagrani’ and will undergo an intense transformation on her 24th birthday.
