Naga Chaitanya's Thank You, Varun Tej's Ghani to release only in theatres, makers confirm amid OTT release rumours

Earlier this week, rumours were floating thick and fast that Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna starrer Thank You, Varun Tej's sports drama Ghani were heading for a direct-to-OTT release, leaving fans of both the stars disappointed. Much to their relief, the makers have dismissed the rumours and confirmed that both the films are only meant for a theatrical release.

Vamsi Kaka, the media representative for both the films, confirmed on his Twitter account, "#ThankYouTheMovie and #Ghani are being planned for THEATRICAL RELEASE only." Ghani, starring Varun Tej, Saiee Manjrekar, Upendra, Naveen Chandra, Nadhiya among others is helmed by Kiran Korrapati and is slated to hit theatres in March 2022. Earlier, the sports drama was to arrive in December 2021, though makers preferred to avoid a clash with biggies like Akhanda, Pushpa, Shyam Singha Roy and postponed its release for 2022. The film is produced by Sidhu Mudda and Allu Bobby.

The release date of Thank You, directed by Vikram K Kumar, featuring Naga Chaitanya, Avika Gor, Raashii Khanna, Malavika Nair, hasn't been announced yet, but the film, whose shoot is more or less done, is expected to hit theatres in the first half of 2022. The first look and glimpse of the film featuring a bespectacled Naga Chaitanya was released on the latter's birthday on November 23. Dil Raju and Shirish are bankrolling the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Varun Tej's other release in the first half of 2022 is F3, the sequel to his hit F2: Fun and Frustration, that will hit theatres on February 25,2022. Naga Chaitanya, besides Bangarraju in January 2022, will also be seen in an extended cameo as a soldier in Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha on April 14,2022. The actor will yet again collaborate with Vikram K Kumar for a horror web series on Amazon Prime Video, where he pairs up opposite Priya Bhavani Shankar.
