Bigg Boss 9 Telugu is all set to kickstart on September 7, 2025 and we at OTT Play were the first to reveal that the show is coming back with a bang. Akkineni Nagarjuna will be returning as the host for the sixth time in his career. The makers have shortlisted some very controversial celebrities to take part in the show.

We also reported earlier that common people can participate in the show this year. Star Maa has already announced the date to apply for entries, and there has been a crazy response from fans. Now, we at OTT Play have come to know that Nagarjuna is taking special care in selecting the commoners who will join the show.

A source close to the production revealed to us that Nagarjuna has warned the makers not to entertain people who have been desperate to join the show in the past. Several small-time actors, YouTubers, and struggling artists have made videos seeking attention to secure a spot on the show. The source further added that Nagarjuna has advised the makers not to encourage such participants and to focus on bringing in only celebrities this time.

Nagarjuna is taking major decisions in Bigg Boss 9 Telugu

In the eighth season, the makers were trolled heavily for not including noted faces on the show. But this time around, they have doubled the budget and are bringing in some well-known heroines, as per the latest updates. We also exclusively revealed that controversial Alekhya Chitti Pickles fame, Ramya, is likely to be part of the show. Along with her, several young heroines from Telugu cinema are expected to join.

Generally, Nagarjuna does not have a say in contestant selection, but this time, he is personally involved in finalizing the list. He’s reportedly taking this seriously as he was trolled earlier for having too many B-grade faces on the show.
