Writer-director Srikanth Nagothi, who made a smashing debut with aha's direct-to-OTT release Bhanumathi and Ramakrishna, is coming up with a relationship drama titled Month of Madhu. He has retained the core team of his debut for the project including his lead actor Naveen Chandra. In an interesting turn, he picked Swathi Reddy to play the female lead through a project that marks her return to filmdom after a brief gap. Month of Madhu's teaser was launched today.

The teaser takes us through the story of a much-in-love couple going through the motions over the years and applying for divorce later. Initially, Naveen Chandra and Swathi Reddy are happy in each other's company and share an intimate relationship. When a friend points out that Naveen is a drunkard, Swathi responds, 'don't your brother and father drink too?' Her worst fears come true after marriage. She recognises the grey side to Naveen as he turns an alcoholic and the relationship turns abusive.

When a man asks Swathi about the reason for their divorce, she says, "I can't summarise the pain I've experienced for over 20 years in 20 minutes, I don't even have the intention to discuss it. I realised even love needs patience and you can lose it too." Meanwhile, Naveen feels he was only being honest with her all through the relationship, be it showcasing his best or worst dimensions. The teaser ends when Naveen even borrows money from his school-going nephew.

Where is the relationship headed? There are no convenient answers. Shreya Navile, Manjula Ghattamaneni, Harsha Chemudu, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Raja Chembolu, Raja Ravindra, Rudra Raghav, Ruchita Sadineni, Mourya Siddavaram, Kancherapalem Kishore form the supporting cast. Month of Madhu is both mature, intriguing and comes with a lot of emotional depth, real-life insights. The film, which has music by Achu Rajamani, is bankrolled by Yaswanth Mulukutla under Krishiv Production and Handpicked Stories.
