Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he was never paid the Rs 2500 acting fee promised for 1999 film Shool

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Nawazuddin Siddiqui is definitely one of the most talented stars in Bollywood today. But to reach the position he is in today, the star had to go through a myriad of struggles. He recently revealed that he was not paid the sum he was promised for his appearance in the 1999 film Shool.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about his small appearance in Shool, in which he played a waiter. He had only a single scene in the film, which involved him walking up to a table where Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon were sitting and taking their order. Nawazuddin was offered Rs 2500 for his role, and revealed that he had not received the sum till date.

He said that he had visited the offices for about 6-7 months to get his payment, and although he had not gotten the money he would be given food to eat once he reached there. Since he was struggling to make ends meet at the time, he had cleverly decided to make sure that he visited the offices during lunchtime. Seeing his condition, the people at the office used to offer him food, which the actor gladly accepted. The actor said that he had had food like that for about a month and a half and had gotten back the money he was owed that way. Shool can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar.

The actor had also talked about the struggles he had to endure during those days, saying there had been days when he had to go without food and some friends would give him food seeing his condition.

Nawazuddin will next be seen in Heropanti 2, sharing the screen with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. The film, directed by Ahmed Khan, will be released on April 29.
