To create your own Reminiscence trailer, all you have to do is visit the website bannisterandassociates.com, which has been designed to make customised short videos. After uploading a photograph of yourself or the person who wants to be in the trailer, you need to show the eyes and face of the person onto the camera and follow the instructions displayed on the website step by step.

The idea behind the promo is to integrate the user into the film, as a make-believe client of Nick Bannister played by Hugh Jackman who wishes to look back into their memories to solve a case through the investigator by uploading their photo.

While there might be some distortions in the customised trailer given that it is framed from a single photograph using deepfake, it is nevertheless quite an engaging move on the part of the makers to include the audience in the process. However, privacy concerns are to be heeded while uploading one’s photograph. But as per a protocol report, the promo was created by a company D-ID which works to ensure that the deepfakes are not misused for cybercrimes.

Helmed by Lisa Roy, Reminiscence is set for a release in theatres in India on August 27. It was released on August 18 in the US and on August 20 in the UK.
