In a recent conversation, actor and filmmaker George Clooney dropped in some major hints about the upcoming film and its speculated budget, release date, shooting schedule, and more.

George Clooney, who played the iconic role as Danny Ocean in Steven Soderbergh’s heist comedy trilogy, is set to return with a new Ocean project. Tentatively titled Ocean 14, the upcoming heist film has been grabbing eyeballs ever since the cast shared their interest in rejoining the franchise for another heist adventure. During a recent conversation with E! news, the actor-filmmaker revealed that Warner Bros. has approved the budget of Ocean’s 14 and it is in development. “We just got the budget approved by Warner Brothers, and we are trying to set it up. It’s just scheduling,” Clooney told the portal.

George Clooney also shared that the makers are setting up a date for the shooting in the upcoming months. They are eyeing a schedule that ranges between 9-10 months. “So just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about 9 or 10 months shooting,” he added. Speculating that the budget is already approved with some pre-production running in the 2025-2026 timeline, Ocean’s 14 might be ready to hit the screens by late 2027 or early 2028. However, no budget and release date have been confirmed yet.

Ocean’s franchise and speculative crossover

Ocean’s is a popular heist trilogy directed by Steven Soderbergh. The plot of the first installment, titled Ocean’s Eleven centered aro und an ex-con man (played by Clooney), who teams up with others to plan a major heist. The success of the film spanned into a franchise with Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. As we gear up for another film in the franchise, it is quite fascinating who will be returning. When asked about the recurring cast, Clooney expressed excitement over reuniting with the original cast with Brad Pitt, Matt Donovan, and Julia Roberts. For the unversed, Julia played Clooney’s ex-wife in the heist film, while Pitt played his partner-in-crime. Matt essayed the role of a pickpocket in the first installment of the Ocean’s reboot series. “Yeah, Brad, Matt and Don, and Julia. I had dinner with Julia last night. They are still very dear friends. So the chance to work together would be fun,” Clooney shared with the interviewer. Andy García and Casey Affleck might also return.

After the Ocean’s trilogy, a spin-off film titled Ocean’s 8 was released in 2018 with an all-female cast led by Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter. The plot revolves around the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), who teams up with other talented ladies to plan a heist in New York during the mega Met Gala fashion event. Ocean’s 14 is expected to bring back their faces in the original or new roles as a crossover between the films, whether in the form of cameos or flashback scenes. Sandra Bullock is speculated to make an appearance in the film, as she played Danny’s sister in the spin-off.
