Actor Suriya's next film, Kanguva, has been garnering enough attention since the release of its teaser recently. While scores of fans are awaiting the release of the film, Suriya made a surprise announcement on Thursday. The actor is set to collaborate with director Karthik Subbaraj for a film. The project is tentatively titled Suriya 44. It is to be noted that this will be the first time Suriya will be collaborating with Karthik Subbaraj.

Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj collaborate on Suriya 44

Suriya, a powerhouse of talent, has been selecting interesting scripts in recent times. While his fantasy action film Kanguva with director Siva is awaiting release, Suriya made a surprising announcement on Thursday. The actor revealed that he is set to join forces with director Karthik Subbaraj for Suriya 44. Karthik Subbaraj last directed the hit film Jigarthanda DoubleX which got positive reception.

The film will be co-produced by Suriya's home banner, 2D Entertainment and the Karthik's Stone Bench Films. A poster was released featuring an arrow going through the bark of a tree, against the backdrop of flames. A car is seen parked in the background. The makers are yet to announce the rest of the information on the cast and crew of the upcoming project. The hashtag #LoveLaughterWar has been used.

Suriya’s upcoming line-up

Suriya was last seen making a cameo appearance in Vikram as Rolex. His role is expected to be featured more in the upcoming LCU films. The actor’s next release will be Kanguva with director Siva. A teaser was unveiled recently. Although the release date of the film is yet to be announced, the film’s post-theatrical rights are secured by Prime Video. Kanguva also features Bobby Deol and Disha Patani.

Suriya will also collaborate with filmmaker Sudha Kongara of Soorarai Pottru fame for Suriya 43. Also featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma, Suriya 43 is expected to be anti-Hindi riots.
