OTTplay awards 2022: Tabbar is best web series (Jury)

Tabbar has bagged this year's OTTplay Award for Best Web Series (jury). The show caught everyone's interest thanks to its compelling storytelling. It was among the top must-watch web series of 2021.

The series' director Ajitpal Singh accepted the award from presenter Zareen Khan. While winning the honour, Ajitpal said, "Thank you, thank you so much to OTTplay for a... I have been sitting there and are enjoying the fact that there are so many languages, series, films which are winning the award you know and Tabbar also in a way 50% Punjabi and I am from Punjab but I also speak in Gujarati. I would like to thank my produce sir Ajay Rai Sony LIV for believing in me and giving me chance to direct this series but more than anybody I would like to thank my wife Moli Singh who is sitting there, you know so for 5 years she was the on running the house financially, economically in every way. Thank you."

Tabbar is a SonyLIV thriller series created by Harman Wadala and produced by Ajay Rai. Supriya Pathak, Pavan Malhotra, Gagan Arora, Kanwaljit Singh and Ranvir Shorey featured in lead roles in the movie.

For the uninformed, the very first OTTplay Awards as well as Conclave, a high profile event from the house of Hindustan Times, strives to recognise the finest actors, filmmakers and web series from all across 10 Indian languages and just a wide range of OTT platforms that made their debuts on streaming platforms in the previous year.

The event, which began on Saturday, September 10, included leaders in the OTT industry, celebrities, content producers, marketers and technological enablers to discuss how OTTs would change the entertainment industry in the future. The first ever Pan-India OTT Award Show, the OTTplay Awards, will be back next year.
