From films and television to now web series, seasoned actress Rupali Ganguly has made her mark in several mediums. Last seen in Anupamaa and Ravivaar With Star Parivaar Rupali has won the ‘Compassionate Changemaker of the Year’ title at the prestigious OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023 tonight. The award was presented by Swastika Mukherjee. The glittery award ceremony - which took place at JW Marriott (Juhu), Mumbai - was attended by the who’s who of the Indian film fraternity.

Speaking at the event, she earlier said, “I am predominantly a TV actress. And as an actress, all forms of entertainment are special. But to me television is very special. I am very excited because any form of recognition, be it onscreen or offscreen, is really beautiful.”

Rupali’s acting career began as a child artiste. She made her debut in 1985 with her father’s film Saaheb. Later, she also appeared in Do Ankhen Barah Hath in 1997. The actress forayed into the world of television with her portrayal of a medical intern as Dr Simran Chopra in the Star Plus medical drama series Sanjivani in 2002. In 2004, Rupali played Monisha Singh Sarabhai in the cult sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. She also acted in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai: Take 2 in 2017. In 2009, she was a contestant in Colors TV’s stunt-based reality show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 2.

In 2022, Rupali made her digital debut with her ongoing show Anupamaas prequel web series, Anupama: Namaste America. The show premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
