Laila, however, decides to get down in Goa, midway through the journey, throwing a spanner in Pachu’s plans. The film, which released on the platform, exactly a month after its theatrical release, was still going strong in theatres in Kerala, having grossed over Rs 15 crore with the bulk of collections coming in the last few weeks.

Akhil, in a recent interview with us, said that the theatre exhibitors had requested him to delay its OTT release for a few weeks due to the demand for the film, which was running to packed theatres in select cinema halls. “I am thrilled about the feedback especially because we didn’t give enough publicity for the film either. In fact, the worst collections for the movie were on its first day and after that the content of the movie promoted itself,” added the director.
