Paranthu Po, the 2025 Tamil slice-of-life drama written and directed by Ram, and which won critically acclaimed responses, is soon to stream. JioHotstar has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, and will premiere on August 5. Ahead of its OTT debut, here is how much Paranthu Po made in the theatres.

Paranthu Po is a light-hearted Tamil film which released in July 2025. The film, which already had international festival run last year, is written and directed by filmmaker Ram who is known to make poignant films. After its theatrical run, the film will make its OTT debut on JioHotstar on August 5. The film will be made in several Indian languages along with English subtitles. As per Sacnilk report, Paranthu Po made Rs 7.59 crore at the box office during its month of theatrical run. The film majorly ran only in Tamil Nadu. With a total of less than Rs 8 crore, the film made modest collection given its humble star cast and budget.

What is Paranthu Po about?

Paranthu Po stars Shiva in the lead role, marking his first collaboration with the filmmaker. While many thought it was strange for someone like Shiva known for his comic quirks to pair up with a serious filmmaker like Ram, the actor's performance was raved after release.
