Paranthu Po, the 2025 Tamil film starring actors Mirchi Shiva, Grace Antony and others, is running in theatres, with good responses coming from critics and audience alike. The film will premiere on JioHotstar after its theatrical run. The streaming platform has produced and presented the film.

Director Ram known for his films like Thanga Meenkal, Taramani and Peranbu, returned to director after seven years with Paranthu Po. The film released in cinemas on July 4.

With good response from critics and audience, the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by JioHotstar. The streaming platform also serves as one of the producers of the film. Paranthu Po is currently holding good in theatres, and is expected to take some time to arrive for streaming.

Paranthu Po is a musical comedy film revolving around a father and his little son. Taken away from the busy nature of the metropolitan city they live in, the duo ends up taking a road trip as they meet various people on their way. Endowed with a lot of comedy, music, and innocence, the film premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in 2025.

Actor Shiva who was last seen in Sumo, plays the lead role in Paranthu Po marking his first collaboration with Ram. He plays the father, while his son is essayed by Master Mitul Ryan. Malayalam actors Grace Antony and Aju Varghese mark their Tamil debuts, while the film also features Anjali, Vijay Yesudas, Jesse Kukku, Sreeja Ravi, Balaji Sakthivel and others.

The technical crew includes camera cranked by NK Ekhambram and Mathi VS is the editor. Music is scored by Santhosh Dhayanithi. The film is produced by Ram, V Gunasekaran, V Karupuchaamy, V Shankar with banners Jio Hotstar, GKS Bros Production, Seven Seas And Seven Hills Productions associated with the project.

Meanwhile, Ram’s next film is Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, an action thriller with Nivin Pauly, Soori and Anjali.
