Parasakthi, the 2026 Tamil period political drama, is going to make its OTT debut very soon. We had already reported that ZEE5 has bagged the rights of the film and will premiere it on February 7. The film will also be made available via OTTplay Premium. As the film ends its theatrical run, here is how much Parasakthi made at the box office.

Parasakthi OTT release: How much did Sivakathikeyan film make?

Parasakthi is a recently released Tamil film starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. The film is written and directed by Sudha Kongara. The first big-ticket Tamil film to release in theatres this year, Parasakthi is a period political drama that will debut on ZEE5 on February 7. As the theatrical run draws to a close, Parasakthi has made close to Rs 85 crore at the worldwide collection report by Sacnilk. The Indian gross collection is Rs 62 crore nearly, with the rest coming from overseas. With a month of 2026 gone, Parasakthi is also leading the top performing films so far. Even as the film opened to mixed reviews, the absence of Jana Nayagan during the Pongal release had given an edge over for the Sivakarthikeyan film.

What is Parasakthi about?

Parasakthi is set in 1950-60s Tamil Nadu and traces the anti-Hindi agitations that took place against the Union government’s imposition. With Sivakarthikeyan leading the project, the story is about two brothers who have differing ideologies that converge to one point after a tragic incident. This gives raise to the return of Purananooru army, a students’ body that leads the riots. Ravi Mohan plays the antagonist, while Atharvaa and Sreeleela appear in other leading roles. Rana Daggubati, Basil Joseph and Daali Dhanjay appear in guest roles.

Parasakthi has music scored by GV Prakash, while Sudha Kongara has written the film. It was initially announced with actor Suriya who later dropped out of the project.
