Parasakthi OTT release date: The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer period political drama directed by Sudha Kongara, is set to premiere soon via OTTplay Premium

Parasakthi, the recently released Tamil film starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, is a period political drama helmed by director Sudha Kongara. The film, which also features actors Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela and Atharvaa, is all set to make its OTT debut very soon. ZEE5 has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Parasakthi and will premiere it in the first week of February, on 7, via OTTplay Premium.

Parasakthi OTT release date: When and where to stream?

Parasakthi, the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer film, is gearing up for its digital debut soon. The film which hit theatres on January 9, after last-minute CBFC struggle, ran in theatres and opened to mixed reviews. Now, after a month of its theatrical run, Parasakthi will begin streaming soon. ZEE5 is its digital home and the film will debut on February 7. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the film.

The period political drama is set in the 1950s Madras Presidency, as Tamil Nadu is opposing the imposition of Hindi by the Union government. The film draws parallels from real-life instances and tells the story of anti-Hindi agitations by students who took to streets. If you have missed watching the film in theatres, Parasakthi will begin streaming from next week onwards. It is expected to release in multiple languages.

Parasakthi: Who is part of the film?

The film is written and directed by filmmaker Sudha Kongara. It features Ravi Mohan as the antagonist, Sreeleela as female lead in her Tamil debut, and Atharvaa as supporting character, with Sivakarthikeyan headlining the film. Basil Joseph, Dhananjay and Rana Daggubati make cameo appearances in Parasakthi.

With music scored by GV Prakash, Parasakthi marks his 100thmusic and Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film. It is to be noted that the period drama was first mounted with Suriya onboard along with Vijay Varma, Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya Fahadh. However, with Suriya opting out, a fresh cast was brought onboard.
