#ParuParvathy was one of 9 Kannada films that released in the last week of January this year. It is, therefore, no wonder, that despite fairly positive reviews, the film did not last very long in theatres. And now, two months later, the film, directed by Rohit Keerti and starring Bigg Boss Kannada fame Deepika Das and Hindi actress Poonam Sirnaik in the lead, has finally made its way to OTT.

#ParuParvathy out on Prime Video

On April 4, 2025, #ParuParvathy, the emotion-driven road-trip movie, became available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. It becomes only the 6th Kannada film to have released in theatres this year that has made it to OTT, given that there were a whopping 71 to have come out in the first 3 months of 2025.

In January, for instance, there were 22 films, namely, After Breakup, Guns and Roses, Swecha, Teddy Bear, Choo Mantar, Nimma Vasthugalige Neeve Javaabdaararu, Sanju Weds Geetha 2, Ravanapura, Kanna Muchhe Kaade Goode, Rudra Garuda Purana, Forest, Royal, Ride, Alle Draw Alle Bahumana, Nodidavaru Enantare, Gana, #ParuParvathy, Begur Colony, Hyena, Ittige Goodinalli Raja Rani, Ravutha and Kaadu Male.

Forest, Royal and Gana were among the first to get to OTT, two on Prime Video and the latter on Sun NXT, followed by Nodidavaru Enantare and then Choo Mantar. #ParuParvathy is the latest addition. The film follows the title character Parvathy (Poonam Sirnaik) a sexagenarian homemaker, who heads out on a trip of a lifetime with her travel vlogger friend, Payal (Deepika Das).

The duo takes off on a road trip, with the journey, the vehicle and their experiences along the way equally important to the narrative. While the film may come across as a film about a beautiful journey across the country, it is as much about the reason behind it and what becomes of it eventually. The film also starred Fawaz Ashraf, KS Sridhar, Mahantesh Hiremath, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Prashanth Natana, among others.
