Shah Rukh Khan is set to give the Hindi film industry a solid start at the box office with Pathaan, according to the first day's box office prediction. Given the advance booking figures and the buzz surrounding the movie, Pathaan should make a huge profit on its opening day. According to the trade website sacnilk, Pathaan's advance ticket sales started on Thursday and within 24 hours, the movie had sold over 2 lakh tickets, with Rs 75k coming from three major chains: PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis.

To put it mildly, the numbers that have come in just one day following the beginning of the advance booking window are fantastic. With the exception of Brahmastra, Pathaan has already surpassed the pre-sales of the majority of Bollywood movies released in the post-COVID era. The movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt sold 6 lakh tickets in advance for its opening day, and at the rate Pathaan is selling tickets, it won't be long until it surpasses Brahmastra's record as well.

Although the exact figure hasn't been released, it is expected that Pathaan would be shown on more than 4500 screens in the Hindi version, making it one of the biggest Hindi releases ever in the country. The first day domestic gross for SRK's spy thriller is predicted to be around Rs 30 crore, but given the trend in advance booking, it wouldn't be surprising if it ended up earning between Rs 45 and 50 crore. With this rate of growth, Pathaan will likely surpass the first-day earnings of War, which brought in Rs 32 crore.

Pathaan may end up becoming Hindi cinema's biggest non-holiday opening, raising the bar for future movies this year. With each passing day, more and more anticipation is building for the movie's release. YRF seemed to have done all possible to maintain interest in the movie.

Pathaan, also starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana among others is set for release on January 25. The film will also see a strong appearance by Salman Khan who will enter the spy universe as Tiger alongside SRK’s Pathaan.
