The makers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 dropped a glimpse of Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala's single, Veera Raja Veera today. The short video has some invigorating beats and shows Arunmozhi Varman and Vaanathi in a warm embrace. Both the actors look stunning in their legal attire and it looks like theirs will be a chemistry that one needs to watch out for in the second instalment.

Earlier today, the team had dropped a BTS video of Sobhita's character in the making with the many looks tested on her. Sobhita is also seen gleefully posing in the many avatars. It is to be noted that Ponniyin Selvan marks the debut of The Night Manager actress in Tamil. She plays Vaanathi, the princess of Kodumbalur and Arulmozhi Varman's love interest in the magnum opus.

In the maiden part, she was seen as the confidant of Ilaiya Piratti Kundavai (Trisha). Sobhita had later revealed that addressed Trisha as 'Akka' (elder sister) in real life, too, just like her character in the film. She also called Trisha a free-spirited person. Sobhita also appeared in the song Ratchasa Maamaney in the first instalment and her dance has garnered a lot of attention.

With hardly a couple of weeks to go for the release of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. It was only recently that a BTS video of Aishwarya Lekshmi, who plays Samudrakumari Ponnguzhali was also released by the team. Interestingly, both Poonguzhali and Vaanathi have a special place in their hearts for Arunmozhi Varman.

Ponniyin Selvan, which stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Karthi in the lead, is all set to hit screens on April 28. The ensemble supporting cast includes Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prabhu, Lal, Rahman, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Kishore, to name a few. Music for the film is by AR Rahman. While the cinematography is by Ravi Varman, editing is by A Sreekar Prasad. Ponniyin Selvan is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
