The first single from the second instalment of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is all set to drop on March 20. The much-awaited single Aga Naga has been sung by ShakthiSree Gopalan and has lyrics by Ilango Krishnan. The makers today, dropped a new poster from the film, featuring Trisha and Karthi. While Trisha is looking regal holding a sword in hand, Karthi is seen blindfolded, sitting with his knees bent in front of the Ilaiya Piratti.

The BGM of Aga Naga has already become a huge hit on social media and has been used in reels frequently. The news of the single should have come as a source of great excitement for many. The makers took to their social media handle to announce the news. Madras Talkies wrote on its social media handle, "Get ready to experience the magic of #AgaNaga in all its glory! 20th March. 6 PM. The song will also release as Aaganandhe in Telugu (sung by Shakthishree Gopalan with lyrics by Anantha Sriram), Agamalar in Malayalam (sung by Shakthishree Gopalan with lyrics by Rafeeq Ahamed, Kirunage in Kannada (sung by Rakshitaa Suresh with lyrics by Jayant Kaikini), and as Ruaa Ruaa in Hindi (sung by Shilpa Rao with lyrics by Gulzar).

The second instalment of Ponniyin Selvan is gearing up to hit screens on April 28. The film, which is an adaptation of Kalki's eponymous five-part novel, has been made in two parts. The plot revolves around the battle for the Chola throne after the reigning king Sundara Chola falls ill. The film has Vikram playing Aditha Karikalan, Karthi as Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan, Trisha as Ilaiya Piratti Kundavai, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini Devi and Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman. The film, which is jointly bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, has music by AR Rahman.-
