The upcoming film Pookie, starring Ajay Dhishan and RK Dhanusha as a young couple, is set to release this Valentine’s week. The makers of the upcoming film released the first promo, which seems to be all about breakups and how to end the relationship on an amicable note. What is Pookie promo about

The first promo of the Pookie movie was released on January 19 by the makers. The video begins with Dhanusha’s character messaging her boyfriend Ajay Dhishan’s character that her parents would be out of town and inviting him home. However, the youth is excited with the prospect and decides to break up with her. He comes with various renditions on how best to convey this to her, without sounding too cringe or dramatic.

The youth finally heads to her home and meets her in the kitchen. But when she faces him, his breakup thoughts abandon him. However, in a filmy twist, the girl seeks a breakup and lists out the exact same reasons he had earlier come up with. But now the boy does not want to break up and threatens that he will take his life. The girl then consoles him that it was just a breakup. Even as they settle down watching a Korean drama, the girl is shown ruminating about how difficult it is to break up.

Directed by Ganesh Chandra, the film promises a fresh tale of a couple where breakup, instead of meet-cute or proposals, are the focus. The film has a story, screenplay and dialogues by Puthiya Parithi.

Ajay Dhishan is the nephew of Vijay Antony, who is composing the music and handling the editing, as well as backing the project. Ajay Dhishan made his debut with Vijay Antony's Maargan, which was released last year.
