Prakambanam: After actor Nivin Pauly's Sarvam Maya, another Malayalam horror comedy will hit theatres soon.Ganapathi and Sagar Surya lead the film, which is likely to be a January 2026 release.

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is set to return to the big screen with his latest film Sarvam Maya, touted to be a horror comedy, which releases in theatres on December 25, 2025. But it looks like Malayalam cinema is getting more films from the genre, as another movie Prakambanam is also set to hit theatres soon. The upcoming film stars actors Ganapathi and Sagar Surya in the lead roles.

Malayalam horror comedy Prakambanam

The makers of the Malayalam film Prakambanam, a horror comedy entertainer, have released the second-look from the movie on December 17. The lead actors have a bemused look on their face in the new poster released on social media. Along with the poster, the makers also said the film will hit theatres soon but an exact release date was not given. Online trackers have claimed that the film could be a January 2026 release. The other Malayalam film which is confirmed to be a January release is Chatha Pacha, starring actors Roshan Mathew and Arjun Ashokan.

Prakambanam cast

Actor Ganapathi, best known for the blockbuster hit Manjummel Boys, leads Prakambanam along with Sagar Surya of Pani fame. Actors Azeez Nedumangad, P P Kunjikrishnan, and Mallika Sukumaran feature in other key roles in this horror comedy. Vijesh Panathur has penned and directed the film, which has music composed by Bibin Ashok with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. Noted Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has also backed the Malayalam film.

A college hostel forms the backdrop of Prakambanam. The earlier released posters hinted that it could revolve around the students with an Ouija Board, much like Romancham or Adi Kapyare Kootamani.

Sarvam Maya release

On the other hand, Sarvam Maya will release in theatres on December 25, 2025. Akhil Sathyan directs the film, which brings together Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese. Another Malayalam film releasing in theatres on Christmas is Mindiyum Paranjum, along with Mohanlal’s Vrusshabha.
