Director Prem Kumar, who is known for making films that are soft-natured and emotion-centric, has confirmed recently that he will be teaming up with actor Fahadh Faasil. This has sparked excitement among fans, given that the collaboration will mark the first time the two will be working together.

Last year, the release of Meiyazhagan, directed by Prem Kumar, has shown that audience still wants to watch more soft-natured films when Tamil cinema is on an action spree. When the audience was expecting what would be Prem Kumar’s next, the director announced his collaboration with Vikram. But looks like the project is getting a little pushed. In the meantime, Prem Kumar will be making an interesting team-up with none other than Fahadh Faasil. The director confirmed this in his recent interview with Gopinath.

Interestingly, Prem Kumar revealed that unlike his previous films, his next with Fahadh Faasil will be an action thriller. It will also mark Fahadh Faasil's first Tamil film in which he plays a solo lead, given his previous films like Maareesan, Vikram and Super Deluxe have been multi-starrers.

Prem Kumar said that the film will also have emotional content and that it is a story he had been carrying for the last four years. "Everyone asked me not to take up action film but I want to break that style. I gave 40 minutes of narration and he liked it. The film will be a straight Tamil one,” Prem Kumar said.

What happened to Vikram and Prem Kumar’s film?

It was announced earlier that Vikram will be doing a film with Prem Kumar. But it looks like the project is getting slightly delayed. Prem Kumar said that it is yet to write the script, and he needs to allocate at least four months. "Time has to come around for it,” he added. Prem Kumar and Vikram's film is tentatively called Chiyaan 64.
