Prithviraj Sukumaran: Aadujeevitham is a glorious celebration of the human spirit

Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran believes that his latest film, Aadujeevitham aka The Goat Life, will serve as a source of inspiration for audiences to endure the challenges they face in their lives. He claimed that the level of resilience among people is wearing thin, with many taking extreme steps for reasons he believes "are not strong enough."

He opined that too much involvement in the virtual world has made humans progressively fragile to real-world challenges. He hoped that audiences who watched this film would take home an important lesson about the true strength of human perseverance.

A tale of resilience and endurance

Prithviraj noted that the life of his character, Najeeb Mohammed, in Aadujeevitham will put people's everyday problems in perspective. "When an actual person can take on so many odds, fight through them, survive and reach the other end of it; be able to tell his tale to the world, he (Najeeb Mohammed) is truly an inspirational figure," he said.

Aadujeevitham is based on the novel of the same name, touted to be one of the highest-selling novels in the history of Malayalam literature. Written by Benyamin, the novel is based on the real-life struggles of Najeeb Mohammed, who falls into the trap of slavery in a Gulf country.

"The Goat Life is mostly about the resilience of the human spirit. It's one man's fight against all odds and all adverse circumstances to make it out of there. And the fact that it's an original story makes it all the more incredible. I think when you watch the film, you will connect with the glorious celebration of the human spirit and the strength of the human mind," added Prithviraj.

Aadujeevitham, the novel, was published in 2008 and became an instant sensation. Director Blessy wasted no time in buying the rights to the book. However, it took about 16 years for Blessy and Prithviraj to turn that novel into a movie.
