Priya Banerjee breaks silence on Raj Babbar's absence at her and Prateik Babbar's wedding - 'Everyone who mattered...'

Prateik Babbar's father, Raj Babbar, wasn't present at the actor's wedding on February 14. The actor's wife Priya Banerjee finally broke the silence on the veteran actor's absence.

Prateik Babbar married his ladylove, Priya Banerjee, on Valentine's Day (February 14, 2025). The couple exchanged wedding vows in an intimate ceremony at the late Smita Patil's Mumbai residence. Later, Priya shared adorable photos with her husband on her Instagram account. However, Raj Babbar and his family's absence at his son Prateik's wedding hit the headlines. Days after their big day, Priya broke the silence on this matter.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Priya Banerjee revealed that 'no family member' was missing from her and Prateik Babbar's wedding. The actress failed to understand why rumors of 'family members' absence' surfaced on social media.

"Our families were there including my parents, his aunts who raised him, his nana-nani, and everyone who mattered and is family was with us. And there was absolutely nobody who is family was missing," she said.

About being married to Prateik, the actress added, "Honestly, being married to Prateik and being married doesn't feel any different. We have been together for a very long time. It has been almost five years, we have lived under the same roof. More than that I feel like I have known him forever. It feels the same."

Why did Prateik and Priya get married on February 14?

In the same interview, Priya revealed why they decided to tie the knot on February 14 (Valentine's Day). The actress and Prateik felt 'what better day' than the day of love to exchange wedding vows. Priya added that she and her husband decided to tie the knot in the presence of their 'closest family members'.

She went on to reveal why it was an intimate wedding. The actress mentioned that she and Prateik wanted their wedding to be a reflection of who they are as a couple. "We are simple and genuine folks and that's exactly how I wanted our wedding to be," shared Priya.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Prateik will next be seen in Salman Khan's Sikandar.
