Speaking to PTI, filmmaker Priyadarshan shared that he is not worried about the box office competition between Bhooth Bangla and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He said, “I think our area of exploitation is bigger, and people like to see different things."
Priyadarshan further shared, "That is our biggest plus point with Bhooth Bangla. Moreover, this is pure entertainment, a fun film; it is not as intense as Border or Dhurandhar. People enjoy every kind of film. I believe as long as the film is holding the attention and interest of people, every film will work."
The filmmaker mentioned that any parent could proudly bring their children to watch his film, as he never includes double-meaning content or vulgarity. He added that he avoids embarrassing parents and has maintained this approach since the beginning of his career.
Speaking to IANS, Akshay Kumar also reacted to Bhooth Bangla releasing amid Dhurandhar 2 craze and shared, “Bhooth Bangla is meant for a broader audience, including children and families. Wo film realism par hai, wo action hai aur wo adult film hai. Ye family film hai. Hamare liye toh bohot achchii baat hai ki saari filmein chale, industry ke liye achi baat hai."
Bhooth Bangla (2026) is an upcoming horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, reuniting him with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Tabu. Inspired by Indian mythology and black magic, the story revolves around a haunted mansion. The film is slated for a theatrical release, promising a mix of laughs and scares.
