Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea

Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea made a strong case for being one of the most technically sound movies made in the country. Though it received mixed reviews from the audiences, the movie has managed to be a hit at the box office.

Keerthi Suresh plays Aarcha in the movie, and she is one of the biggest highlights of the song Neeye En Taaye. While Priyadarshan has time and time again proven his knack for making his songs look great in movies, Keerthi Suresh adds a touch of originality in the song.

Talking about Keerthi Suresh in an interview with Times of India, the filmmaker Priyadarshan said, “Keerthy surprised me by playing the veena so well. She is a violinist, but a lot of people don’t really know that. Since she had the music within her, she effortlessly pulled off the role and the song.”

He added that the young actor surprised him by actually playing Veena and not getting a single note wrong. Calling her a natural, Priyadarshan said that it is difficult to sing and play Veena at the same time, and she wowed him.

While the movie has had mixed reviews, audiences have enjoyed the songs from the movie. One of the main reasons that Neeye En Thaaye is attractive to the viewer, is the way Suresh delivers on screen, be it her lip-syncing or playing Veena.

The song, which was composed and arranged by Ronnie Raphael, was written by B. K. Harinarayanan and sung by K. S. Harisankar and Reshma Raghavendra.

Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea had its grand theatrical release on December 2, followed by its digital release on Amazon Prime Video on December 17.
