Filmmaker Priyadarshan has been quite clear in his vision. He was assigned the task of directing a movie, and he did exactly that. After directing Bhooth Bangla, Priyadarshan, as the filmmaker, holds no interest in taking Bhooth Bangla ahead as a franchise. However, he leaves the door open for the producers to take a call. “Maybe, Ektaa can take it forward,” he shared during his conversation with Mid-Day. As for the buzz of the April 10 release, netizens are certain that the movie deserved the title of the ‘real Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.’
Among the various trends, one of the more popular ones is where there’s an uno reverse between Akshay Kumar and Rajpal Yadav. “He is hilarious in the film and a character you will remember,” the filmmaker states about Rajpal Yadav. However, Priyadarshan is more particularly impressed with Tabu and promises that the movie is nothing without her graph. Stating that she ‘looks as beautiful in it as she did in Virasat,’ Priyadarshan shared, “Without Tabu’s character, there’s no logic in the story.” He first collaborated with Tabu in Kaalapaani in 1996, followed by Virasat in 1997, and Hera Pheri as well as Raakilipattu in 2000.
While speaking about Bhooth Bangla climax scene, Priyadarshan shared, “People will smile and then the eeriness will creep in. The climax is one of the biggest ends ever shot on a huge canvas.” The movie will release in theatres nearly one month after Dhurandhar 2’s release. While Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be out on March 19, Bhooth Bangla will release on April 10, 2026.
