Silajit Majumder was recently seen in the singers’ protest rally against the heinous rape and murder incident at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. He was one of the leading members of the rally. What did he announce regarding the RG Kar incident this time?

Silajit had a show at Kolkata Centre for Creativity on August 24. He postponed the show in the present situation. He posted a video and said, “In the concert in KCC on August 24, the songs were supposed to be presented with a different sound design. But we are postponing it to September 14. Hopefully, it does not need to be explained why the show was postponed. We all understand it.”

He further said, ‘We made a joint decision. The musicians including me, Prabuddha Banerjee, Nabarun Basu, Ratul Shankar, and Sounak, along with the KCC offstage officials, unanimously decided to postpone the program. A maximum of the tickets were sold. KCC can say whether those who can’t come will get a refund. Those who can come will come. Sorry.’

Anwesha Dutta, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Pota, Rupam Islam, and Lagnajita Chakraborty were some of the faces in the musicians’ rallies. Silajit, Lagnajita, and Manomoy were in the front and shouted ‘We want justice’. They held battery candles. Subhamita, Silajit, Ujjaini Mukherjee, and other artists were also there. The rally started at Nava Nalanda School and went to Golpark.
