Queen Charlotte is now formally making her sensational entrance. On May 4, Netflix will debut the Bridgerton spinoff. Tuesday's global fan event for the greater Bridgerton universe, presented by Netflix and Shondaland, saw the release of the fresh video and first-look images from the six-episode limited series.

The series is centred on Queen Charlotte's rise to prominence and power; this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen's marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Ruth Gemmell will play Lady Violet Bridgerton, Adjoa Andoh will play Lady Agatha Danbury, and Golda Rosheuvel will play Queen Charlotte. In the Origin series, India Amarteifio plays a young Queen Charlotte. Michelle Fairley plays a young Princess Augusta, Corey Mylchreest plays a young King George, and Arsema Thomas plays a young Agatha Danbury. Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril N'Ri, and Hugh Sachs, who plays Brimsley once more, complete the cast.

Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes is the showrunner, executive producer, and writer for Queen Charlotte. Tom Verica and Betsy Beers, who also direct, are also executive producers.

Each season of Bridgerton the hugely popular Netflix show, focuses on a different love story of Bridgerton's siblings. The main characters of the third season will be Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Penelope is disguised as the anonymous scandal writer Lady Whistledown, who also narrates each season. Phoebe Dynevor just said she won't be returning for season three of Bridgerton, the television series she created with her character Daphne and Regé-Jean Page's Simon.

The team discussed how the limited series fits into the Bridgerton universe and provided hints about the new royal characters that viewers will soon get to know at a live panel discussion on Tuesday with Rhimes and her new cast members, including the young Queen.
