The much-loved prequel to Netflix's massively successful series Bridgerton Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, has an interesting tie to India. Our country is also the name of the show's protagonist. The series starring India Amarteifio as a young Queen Charlotte has become as beloved as both seasons of Bridgerton.

At Netflix's international event Tudum in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Amarteifio explained the origins of her name. During an interaction with Mid Day, the actor responded, "I wish," when asked if there was a backstory to her unusual name. She revealed that her parents are huge fans of the name. Neither they nor she had ever visited India. They chose it because they liked the sound of it, and supposedly she sprang out and her mother said, "That's an India."

Amarteifio added that she should definitely ask her mom about this, but she is a huge fan of R&B music, and there is an R&B performer named India Arie, so maybe that's it. But the country is a major factor.

The actor grew up in nearby Twickenham after being born in nearby Kingston upon Thames. Her mother is of German descent, while her father is from Ghana.

In the prequel, which focuses on Queen Charlotte's rise to power, she takes the lead role. The series describes how the young queen's marriage to King George sparked both a wonderful love story and a cultural upheaval, which helped to create the Ton world that the residents of Bridgerton inherited.

Corey Mylchreest, who plays a youthful King George III, and Amarteifio's Queen Charlotte co-star were also present at the Netflix Tudum event.

Tudum, named after the chime that plays before a Netflix movie or show begins, is the streaming service's largest annual event and a celebration of the company's most iconic content. Returning to Brazil, site of the original in-person Tudum event in 2020, this year's global broadcast marks the event's return to the country.

During this year's global livestream event, which aired from the park, Netflix expanded on the three-day convention event that it hosted from June 16 to 18 at the Bienal within Ibirapuera Park (Parque do Ibirapuera) in Sao Paulo. Attendees got up close and personal with their favourite celebrities in addition to enjoying over 2,000 square metres of activities, games, live music, and more.
