M. Night Shyamalan is one of those directors who are not afraid to attempt unconventional films, both in terms of narrative and style. His film, The Sixth Sense, remains one of the most talked-about films to this day. Films such as The Village have inspired several filmmakers including Leigh Janiak, director of the Fear Street trilogy. His other films such as Signs, Unbreakable, and Split are regarded as some of the best horror films ever made. Born in Mahé, India, he is also a recipient of the Padma Shri award for his contributions to the field of cinema.
