As per a Variety India report, Raghav Juyal has joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. He is likely to play the role of Meghanad, aka Indrajit, the eldest son of Ravana and the crown prince of Lanka. However, his character will be seen in Ramayana Part 2, scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release.
The report also shared that initially, Vikrant Massey was slated to play the role, but the plans fell through. Raghav was later approached, and he accepted the role without any hesitation. It is expected that the shooting will start after he recovers from his injury.
Indrajit (also known as Meghnada) is a pivotal character in the Ramayana, serving as the eldest son of King Ravana of Lanka. A masterful warrior, he earned the title "Indrajit" (Conqueror of Indra) by defeating the king of the gods. He was the main driving force of Ravana's army, wielding powerful, divine celestial weapons like the Brahmastra.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is an ambitious, multi-part live-action adaptation of the Hindu epic, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, with a high-budget focus on VFX and emotional depth. The film will be released in two parts in Diwali 2026 and 2027, respectively.
The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The music is done by Hans Zimmer & A.R. Rahman. The film is designed as a massive trilogy retelling the ancient 5,000-year-old tale of duty, love, and destiny.
The story follows Lord Rama's journey into exile in the forest, which results in Ravana's abduction of Sita. It culminates in the preparation for war to rescue her. The narrative highlights the triumph of good over evil, emphasizing emotional authenticity rather than mere display.
