At the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, superstar Rajinikanth was honored for his 50 years in cinema.

At the concluding phase of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), superstar and actor Rajinikanth was felicitated for completing 50 years in the industry as an actor. The actor was in attendance for the event, along with his loved ones, and conveyed his gratefulness for being honoured for his milestone.

Fondly known as Thalaivar and Superstar, actor Rajinikanth, received an honour at the International Film Festival of India which took place in Goa. On its last day, superstar Rajinikanth along with his family attended the event, where he was honoured. Not a new name to Indian cinema, Rajinikanth was felicitated for his phenomenal cinematic journey.

“My heartfelt thanks to government for honouring me in completing 50 years in cinema. When I look back, it only appears like 10-15 years. Time flew just like that. That is because I like and love cinema and acting. So even for 100 janams (births), I would like to be born as an actor and Rajinikanth,” the actor said on IFFI’s stage. Rajinikanth also thanked his fans and following in Tamil Nadu who is celebrating for who he is for the last 50 years.
As Rajinikanth completes 50 years since his debut with Apoorva Ragangal, Hindustan Times had rebranded its masthead for the first time in 100 years, to Rajinikanth Times with a front-page tribute. The actor, who has been a pillar of Tamil cinema, has over 170 films to his credit, and one of the top-paid actors of India cinema.
Rajinikanth is currently working in Jailer 2 with director Nelson Dilipkumar and the release date for the film is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Thalaivar 173 was announced a few days back with director Sundar C directing and Kamal Haasan as producer. However, Sundar C later backed out of the project due to reasons unknown.
