Superstar Rajinikanth paid a heartfelt tribute to his friend and co-star Dwarakish, who passed away on April 16. Dwarakish, aged 81, died of cardiac arrest in his Bengaluru residence, sending shockwaves across the industry.
In the wake of Dwarakish's passing, social media was flooded with messages of condolences. Rajinikanth also mourned the death of his old friend while sharing his sympathies for Dwarakish's family and fans.
"The demise of my longtime dear friend Dwarakesh is very painful to me... starting his career as a comedian, he raised himself up to being a big producer and director... fond memories come to my mind... my heartfelt condolences to his family and dear ones..." Rajinikanth wrote in his condolence message.

Rajinikanth has shared screen space with Dwarakish in several films during the early days of his career. After Rajinikanth caught his first break in Tamil as a lead actor, he also took up roles in other language films, including Kannada.
Rajinikanth played the second lead in several movies, and Dwarakesh was part of most of his Kannada movies. The duo shared space in blockbuster movies like Galate Samsara, Garjanai, Maathu Tappada Maga, and Sahodarara Savaal.
