Aditya Dhar's espionage thriller, Dhurandhar, has been ruling the box office. The film already crossed Rs. 480 crore in 15 days and aims to surpass Rs. 500 crore soon. From Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, to Rakesh Bedi, everyone has been receiving praise for their acting and in a new interview, Rakesh, who played politician Jameel Jamali, reacted to his character development in Dhurandhar Part 2.

Rakesh Bedi on his role in Dhurandhar Part 2

In a new interview with Hindustan Times, Rakesh Bedi opened up about his transition from comedy to a complex character. While talking about his role in Dhurandhar Part 2, the actor said, "Aditya called me last year to offer me the role of Jameel, who has so much more to him. He’s going to be worse in the sequel, and it 100 per cent gave me the chance to do something different. I’m in seventh heaven."

Speaking about how the opportunity has given him the chance to showcase a different side of his acting abilities, Rakesh said that Aditya Dhar knew that in 50 years, there hadn’t been a month when he hadn’t performed on stage.

"He knew I had seen all colours of people in life to play this role that looks straight but isn’t. Jameel is cunning, scheming, sly There are so many layers to him,” he said.

Rakesh Bedi further talked about Dhurandhar Part 2 and shared that despite fierce opposition from Rahman Dakait (Akshaye) and other political bigwigs, Jameel has been able to place Hamza at the helm of affairs.

"Although now that he realises Hamza is working according to his fancy, he might pull his stringshe might pull the carpet also (laughs). I won’t tell you more than that,” he said.

About Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar is a 2025 Indian spy thriller about RAW agent (Ranveer Singh) who goes undercover as Hamza Ali Mazari in Karachi's underworld and joins gangster Rehman Dakait's (Akshaye Khanna) network to destroy terror cells for India. Hamza becomes the right-hand man to crime lord Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) while secretly working to break his syndicate.

He faces the threat of ISI agent Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) and a corrupt system, forcing him to take drastic measures, including eliminating the dacoit and taking control, to prevent major attacks on India. The film focuses on real events like the IC-814 hijacking, 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
