Rakshit Shetty’s 777 Charlie to release on June 10?

Earlier today, Rakshit Shetty took to social media to state that the release date of his next, 777 Charlie, would be announced on April 10. He wrote, “The little paws have travelled miles, and it's time they reach your hearts soon! ♥️ Announcing #777Charlie release date on April 10 at 11.04AM.”

777 Charlie, directed by Kiranraj K and produced by Rakshit’s home banner Paramvah Studios, was earlier slated to release on December 31, 2021, but was pushed ahead amid uncertainties regarding the pandemic. At the time, it was also rumoured that the team was still in discussions with a Bollywood based production house for the north India distribution of the film, which is being released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

For a while, it had been rumoured that 777 Charlie would probably be a March release, and then May release, but there’d been no word from the makers until today. Fans and industry insiders, of course, went into overdrive after Rakshit’s social media post, trying to figure out when they will probably release. So far, a lot of movies had been waiting for Kiccha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona release date to be announced to plan their own theatrical outings.

With the Sudeep film now slated for July 28, May and June are up for grabs, but sources say that early June is when 777 Charlie will release. The buzz this evening was that June 10th is the D-Day for Rakshit film’s, which is strategically placed between KGF: Chapter 2 and Vikrant Rona and gives the team enough time to plan their publicity as well. It is also the Friday after Rakshit's birthday on June 6.

Starring Rakshit in the lead, 777 Charlie is about how his character Dharma’s life changes after he meets a dog called Charlie. The film, which has music by Nobin Paul, also stars Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Bobby Simha, Danish Sait, among others.
