During his recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ram Kapoor said that the kiss on Bade Acche Lagte Hai was Ekta Kapoor's idea. The actor recalled asking her about how it was the first-of-a-kind on-screen kiss for Indian TV. On hearing the claims, Ekta got furious and called Ram an unprofessional actor while warning that she could also talk but chose dignified silence instead.
On the kiss scene controversy, Ram told various media portals that he assumed it was Ekta Kapoor's idea, only to realize that was not the case. "I presumed that whole kiss thing was her idea. She’s the one who informed us. Maybe it was the writers, maybe not. Since she got upset, maybe it wasn’t hers," the actor shared.

Ram Kapoor's wife Gautami Kapoor was seen mimicking Ekta Kapoor in her Instagram stories while talking about Ram Kapoor's weight loss journey. "Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet? Should I take Mounjaro? Should I take Ozempic (pharmaceutical drugs), or all of the above? Or should I just zip my mouth? But I think mere liye gym hi kaafi hai. Kyunki humein bade nahi, chhote hi achhe lagte hain," the actress said in her video. Defending his wife, Ram said Gautami was having fun on social media. "How can I disregard all she has done for me? She gave me a platform. I became a household name because of her. So, anything she wants to say about me—even if it's names for the next 10 years—please do so. Nobody in the industry has done what she did for me," Ram had said in a media statement. The remarks come days after he was ousted from Mistry promotions owing to insensitive jokes.
