Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ayan Mukerji announce a special fan screening of Brahmastra; details inside

The film is scheduled for release in theatres on September 9.

As Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus Brahmastra is inching closer to release, fans' excitement is palpable to say the least. If the hype for the film wasn’t enough already, the makers recently treated fans to a delightful surprise, announcing that they were planning a special screening of the film before its official release date.

Alia Bhatt, who stars in the film along with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni, shared the news on her official social media handles. The actress revealed that the team behind Brahmastra, including Ayan and Ranbir, were watching the film in 3D together for the first time. She gave viewers a glimpse of the screening, as the film’s crew sat behind the trio, donned in 3D glasses.

Calling it a huge moment, Ayan and Ranbir revealed that they were planning a fan screening of the film in Mumbai on September 8, which is a day prior to its original release on September 9. The details regarding the fan preview would be released on a later date.

Alia captioned the post “ATTENTION! ATTENTION!!!! 3 days to gooooooooooooo(sic)”. Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor, and Alia’s mother Soni Razdan, were among those who commented on the post, expressing their excitement for the film.

Meanwhile, the buzz surrounding the film seems to be paying off, as the film reportedly has already collected more than Rs 2 crores in advance bookings. Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva is intended to be the first instalment in Ayan’s planned Astraverse trilogy. Written and directed by Ayan, the film is bankrolled by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Namit Malhotra, and Mukerji under the banners of Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures and Prime Focus in partnership with Star Studios, together with Ranbir Kapoor and Marijke DeSouza. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.
