Both Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have played tragic lovers in their careers, in the films Rockstar and Aashiqui 2 respectively. Interestingly, both characters are successful singers. However, they lose the love of their lives at the film's climax. Heer, played by Nargis Fakhri, passes away due to illness in Rockstar, while Rahul, played by Aditya Roy Kapur, dies by suicide in Aashiqui 2. So now that Jordan (Ranbir) and Aarohi (Shraddha) are alone, how about a universe of them coming together?

When asked about the same during a group media interaction, Shraddha burst out laughing and quipped, "What an imagination, man! And to get Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Suri to co-direct, imagine that also. But I don't know if Aarohi will ever love again. Good idea, nice try!"

On hearing Shraddha's response, Ranbir went on to give his take, stating, "We can collaborate as singers; it doesn't have to be a love story."

That's definitely something fans would look forward to!

Imtiaz Ali and A. R. Rahman worked together on the 2011 musical drama Rockstar which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. In addition to the late Shammi Kapoor, the film's cast also includes Moufid Aziz, Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Shernaz Patel, and Kumud Mishra. While Ranbir's performance and Rahman's score were praised upon the film's release, the story and screenplay were panned.

The 2013 film Aashiqui 2 by Mohit Suri is a sequel to his 1990 musical Aashiqui. It's a remake of the classic 1937 film, and it stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, with Shaad Randhawa and Mahesh Thakur in supporting roles and Salil Acharya in a cameo. Filmed in the early 2010s, the story follows the relationship between alcoholic and irritable singer Rahul Jaykar and his protege, the talented but troubled Aarohi Keshav Shirke.
