Shraddha Kapoor is all set to be seen in Laxman Utekar's biopic film on Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Now, a report mentioned that Randeep Hooda has joined the cast as the male lead.

Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly starring in a biopic film directed by Laxman Utekar titled Eetha, which is about the life of legendary Marathi folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film is a biographical drama centred on the life and legacy of the "Tamasha Samradini" (Tamasha Empress). Now, a report stated that Randeep Hooda has joined the cast as the male lead.

Pinkvilla reported that Eetha movie makers are all set to cast Randeep Hooda in the lead role, opposite Shraddha Kapoor. “The shoot commences end of this month in Mumbai. Randeep plays the romantic lead opposite Shraddha…the makers are extremely confident about the casting, as both Randeep and Shraddha bring depth and versatility that fit perfectly with Utekar’s vision," the source mentioned.
As per reports, Eetha is a biographical drama based on the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a prominent figure in Maharashtra's folk art tradition of Tamasha. This project highlights the rich folk heritage of Maharashtra and aims to pay a passionate tribute to Vithabai's legacy as a Tamasha artist. The title "Eetha" is a regional adaptation of "Vitha," her popular nickname.
Reports also suggested that to play this role, Shraddha Kapoor is training in traditional Marathi folk dances like Lavani and Gavlan, as these were an important part of Vithabai's life. The shooting of the film began in early November 2025 and will feature talented actors from both the Hindi and Marathi film industries to maintain authenticity.
Eetha is being directed by Laxman Utekar, who is known for his grounded and realistic storytelling, which is expected to bring a sensitive and authentic portrayal of the subject matter. His recent blockbuster film was Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal.
