Telugu film industry has this ability to produce terrific comedians across generations with different styles and strengths. However, Brahmanandam was a rare comedian who stood tall for over three decades before deciding to go slow with his choices. In 2022, he had two major releases, Bheemla Nayak and Panchathantram where he was seen briefly in special cameos. However, in his second innings, the veteran still is in need of a biggie that’ll showcase his worth to a new generation.

Rangamarthanda, Krishna Vamsi’s next directorial, the Telugu remake of Nata Samrat, could just be the game-changer for Brahmanandam. The news is already out that Brahmanandam will be seen in a non-comedic role after a long gap in his career in Rangamarthanda. ‘His appearance will certainly leave you teary eyed’ is what Krishna Vamsi has told across multiple forums. Beyond labels, what the film strives to prove is Brahmanandam’s versatility as a performer.

Brahmanandam recently wrapped dubbing for his portions in the drama headlined by Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna. After unveiling the first look posters of Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna, the team launched a glimpse of his look as Chakrapaani today. With a white beard, sporting an innocent smile, the look presents a unique side to Brahmanandam that not many have known since decades. Shivathmika Rajashekar, Ali Reza, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Rahul Sipligunj too play important roles in the film.

With music by Ilaiayraaja, the film has dialogues by Akella Siva Prasad. Lakshmi Bhoopal has penned a shayari on the life of an actor, rendered by Waltair Veerayya star Chiranjeevi that went viral a few days ago. Produced by Kalipu Madhu and S Venkat Reddy under Raja Shyamala Entertainments, Housefull Movies, the film has cinematography by Raj K Nalli.
