While on one hand, the advent of AI (artificial intelligence) seems to be a boon to many, on the other, it’s also proving to be an unnecessary nuisance for a few. The last few months have seen many doctored videos (read ‘AI-generated deepfake videos) of celebrities ranging from Alia Bhatt to Rashmika Mandanna and others.

Just a few days ago, there was a deepfake video of Aamir Khan which went viral in no time. The said video had the doctored voice of the actor, in which he was ‘seen’ talking negatively about a particular political party. Following which, the ‘Dangal’ superstar clarified to everyone that it was not him and he also went onto file a police complaint regarding the same.

After Aamir Khan’s video, it was Ranveer Singh, whose AI-generated deepfake video went viral yesterday. The said video was that of the Gully Boy actor talking positively about a political party and, in the bargain, urging everyone to vote for the said political party. The video that showed the actor talking was actually a video that he had shot during his visit to the holy city of Varanasi.

Today, Ranveer Singh took to social media and posted a request to everyone in respect to the deepfake videos. The actor posted, ‘Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn’ (Be aware of deepfake, dear friends)’. No sooner he posted this on social media, there were many of his fans and followers who supported him in the cause.

On the professional front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in the Karan Johar-directed multi-starrer 'Rocky Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', which had the likes of Alia Bhatt (the leading lady) and veteran actors like Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. Ranveer Singh will now be seen with the stunning Kiara Advani in the much-awaited Don 3, which is being made by the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar.
