Real Najeeb Mohammed's first reaction to Aadujeevitham: 'I want to hug and kiss Prithviraj'

Real Najeeb Mohammed expressed satisfaction and joy with Blessy's narration and Prithviraj Sukumaran's heartfelt depiction of his life's struggles in Aadujeevitham.

Najeeb Mohammed, whose ordeal inspired the novel Aadujeevitham and director Blessy's latest directorial outing of the same name , was overwhelmed after watching the celluloid ode to his life.

He revealed that a death in the family didn't allow his kin to join him to watch Aadujeevitham on its opening day. However, he expressed satisfaction and joy with Blessy's narration and Prithviraj Sukumaran's heartfelt depiction of his life's struggles.

Najeeb Mohammed moved to tears by Aadujeevitham

"It was outstanding. I will hug and kiss Prithviraj if I see him now. Because he has depicted my ordeal (honestly) in the film. I was in tears watching this film," Najeeb told the media while urging everyone to watch this movie and make it a big success.

Aadujeevitham dramatizes Najeeb Mohammed's dehumanizing ordeal he suffered at the hands of a few cruel employers in the Gulf country. He travelled to the Gulf hoping to give a better life to his loved ones and unborn child back home in Kerala. However, his Gulf dreams push him into servitude as he gets trapped in the middle of a desert.

Aadujeevitham tells Najeeb's sufferings and his eventual escape, enduring starvation, extreme dehydration, and injury.

The journey of Aadujeevitham

Najeeb's life was first turned into a novel by writer Benyamin. The book was published in 2008 and became an instant classic. The film went on to achieve great literary feats, becoming one of the most successful novels in the history of Malayalam literature.

Blessy immediately bought the rights to the novel and announced the movie based on the book in 2009. However, the budget that he needed to make this movie at the time seemed unreasonable in the Malayalam film industry.

Yet, Blessy and Prithviraj persevered and managed to finally turn the book into a big-screen drama.
