Popular bruiser Rightu is back! The trailer of Thalainagaram 2, which is said to be a sequel to Thalainagaram (2006) is out and Sundar C is seen in a violent avatar as he mercilessly kills and injures people with his sickle. A bunch of ruffians seem to be all set to take revenge on Rightu, who is a hurdle to them and Rightu takes them on single-handedly.

The film is written and directed by Dhorai VZ and the star cast includes Sundar C,Palak Lalwani ,Thambi Ramaiah, 'Baahubali Prabhakar,Aayira, Jaise Jose, Vishal Rajan, Seran Raj. Music for the film is by Ghibran, editing by R Sudharshan and cinematography by E Krishnaswamy. Action choreography is by Don Ashok.

Interestingly, Thalainagaram, helmed by Suraj, marked the debut of Sundar C as an actor. The film had Sundar C, Jyothirmayi and Vadivelu in the lead, along with Prakash Raj, Bose Venkat, Judo K Rathinam and KS Ravikumar. Apart from the action scenes, Vadivelu's comedy was one of the highlights of the film. His character Naai Sekar even had a spin off with another Suraj film, Naai Sekar Returns (2022).

However, the absence of Vadivelu in the sequel comes across as a huge miss and it looks like Thalainagaram 2 will be a heavy-duty blood-splattering action entertainer without comedic relief.

On the directorial front, Sundar C is working on Aranmanai 4, in which he plays the lead himself after Vijay Sethupathi walked out of the film. This film will mark the comeback of Santhanam. His last directorial, the romantic comedy Coffee With Kaadhal was a disaster at the box office and was trashed by critics and audience alike.

OTTplay critic P Sangeetha wrote, "The film is billed as a feel-good romantic comedy, but neither does it make you feel good, nor do the characters make you care for them, nor does it evoke much laughter. What you are served instead is some lurid skinshow, jokes that fall flat and a confusing hodgepodge of relationships."
