The rumor surfaced this week that Ritabhari Chakraborty and Tathagata Chatterjee have split. This created a buzz on social media. Another rumor surfaced regarding Tathagata's family. It was heard that his family objected to the marriage. Tathagata comes from a big business family, who were reportedly unhappy with their son's relationship with Ritabhari. Meanwhile, the actress was also very busy recently, and hence could not give time to Tathagata. This, according to the reports, created a distance between them. Psychiatrist Tathagata was not seeing Ritabhari for the last few months.

Now Tathagata took to his social media to clear the air. He never came to the spotlight of his heroine-girlfriend. But he could not keep mum when rumors surfaced regarding his family. He tagged Ritabhari on social media and wrote a long post. He wrote, “The news about my family's views about my personal relationship is utterly baseless. I came from a liberal family which provides enough space for each of us and does not believe in interfering in our personal relationships. They have always loved Ritabhari for the person she is. Please leave us alone while we lead our private lives in peace.”

Ritabhari shared this post's screenshot and wrote, “To all the editorials, please do some research and stop yellow journalism. Have some dignity, please. Don't just write anything for the sake of clicks. A simple question would have helped when I have been nothing but kind and welcoming to every journalist friend of mine.”

Ritabhari's next film Fatafati will be released on May 12. She is bringing another out-of-the-box love story, produced by Windows. The film will tell the story of a plus-size model. Abir Chatterjee will be in the film.
