After penning Kunchacko Boban’s Officer on Duty, Shahi Kabir is back in the director’s chair with Ronth, which stars Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles. The upcoming Malayalam film is all set to hit theatres on June 13, 2025. The makers of Shahi Kabir’s film have now released the teaser, giving a glimpse into the world of Ronth which features Dileesh Pothan and Kankhajura actor Roshan Mathew as night-patrol cops.

The teaser of Shahi Kabir's Ronth begins with Dileesh Pothan and Roshan patrolling the streets in their police vehicle in night. Dileesh’s character, who appears to be the senior of the two, is seen giving pointers to the junior cop played by Roshan Mathew. He tells the junior that the primary quality that a policeman should possess is observation. Observation skills are what matters and not a charged-up attitude, Roshan Mathew’s character is told but does not appear to be impressed. As the teaser progresses, Dileesh warns him not to mess with him, as he is the senior.

All in all, the Ronth teaser sets the tone of a police drama, involving these two night-patrol cops. Notably, Dileesh Pothan had previously featured as a senior cop in Thalavan which also delved into the hierarchy in the police force.

Meanwhile, Ronth marks the second directorial venture after Ela Veezha Poonchira which fetched him the Kerala State Award for the Best Debut Director. Shahi Kabir, who had also penned the scripts for Joju George's Joseph and Nayattu, has written the plot for the upcoming film as well. Manesh Madhavan handles the cinematography in Ronth, which has music composed by Anil Johnson.

On the other hand, Dileesh Pothan’s latest film to hit the OTT space was Am Ah which is available for streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. Roshan Mathew is awaiting the release of Kankhajura, a Hindi series, which will release on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium on May 30, 2025.
