Mollywood actor Roshan Mathew has signed his second film with director Sibi Malayil. The upcoming movie, which is scripted by Hemanth Kumar, is set to go on floors soon and will have Suhasini Mani Ratnam as the female lead.

As per reports, the film, which will be produced by Siyad Kokker, will begin shooting by the end of August with Kochi and Palakkad being the prime locations. The movie’s story will be set against a rural backdrop. The untitled film also marks Suhasini’s first venture with Sibi Malayil in 35 years; their previous collaboration was Ezhuthapurangal back in 1987.

Meanwhile, Roshan, who is fresh off the success of his direct-to-OTT Hindi release Darlings that had Alia Bhatt, Vijay Varma and Shefali Shah as part of its cast too, is awaiting two big theatrical release in September. He will kick off the month with Oru Thekkan Thallu Case, which will hit theatres on September 8.

The movie, which is helmed by Bro Daddy’s co-writer Sreejith N, is scripted by GR Indugopan and is based on the latter’s novel Amminipilla Vettu Case. Set against the coastal backdrop in Thiruvananthapuram, the movie also has Biju Menon, Nimisha Sajayan and Padmapriya in lead roles.

Roshan’s next release after Oru Thekkan Thallu Case will be Sibi Malayil’s political thriller Kotthu, which also has Asif Ali and Nikhila Vimal in the lead. The movie, which is also scripted by Hemanth, is expected to hit theatres on September 23.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Roshan had talked about working with veteran filmmakers and also trying to learn what he can from their experience while also adding his inputs. “I find a change with every director I have worked with. On my first day of shoot, I go with 100% trust in my director and within the first week, I try to understand his or her working style. After that, I try to bring in the collaborative process. I try to meet them halfway, and still do my thing while adapting it into the way they function,” he said.
