Tisca Chopra’s directorial debut feature, Saali Mohabbat was premiered at IFFI Goa and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival. Now, the film is all set to be released on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. While the makers have kept the release date under wraps, they have unveiled the teaser on November 14.

The 1-minute and 7-second teaser of Saali Mohabbat shows Divyenndu Sharma assigned to solve the murder case of Geeta Colony. It has a double murder. While suspecting, Divyenndu raises his eyes at Radhika Apte's character Smita. The teaser also shows Anurag Kashyap in a mysterious role.

The teaser hints at a story that explores the darker, more unexpected shades of love and betrayal. Meanwhile, the film centres on a small-town housewife named Smita, whose ordinary life becomes entangled with betrayal, deceit, and moral ambiguity. Saali Mohabbat is a thriller-drama that explores the dark transformation of love into obsession as buried secrets surface.

Speaking about the film, Tisca said, “I’ve always been fascinated by the quiet tensions that exist beneath the surface of relationships — the invisible power struggles, the unspoken expectations, the ways in which love can transform into something darker. This film explores those fragile boundaries — of trust, betrayal, and identity — but through a deeply female perspective.”

Directed by Tisca Chopra, Saali Mohabbat features Radhika Apte, Divyenndu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sauraseni Maitra, and Sharat Saxena.

Tisca also described the filmmaking experience as “both terrifying and liberating." "Terrifying because it demanded emotional vulnerability, and liberating because it allowed me to step outside the boundaries women filmmakers are so often placed within," Chopra said.
